New in Wellington: La Coppetta Matta and Palm Beach Improv & Copper Blues are licensed; Jersey Mike's and 16 Handles are on the way.

Last checked Oct. 10, 2026. This first roundup draws on three Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation files from its public records page: new restaurant establishments, restaurant ownership changes and food service plan reviews, all downloaded Oct. 10, 2026. It is rebuilt each month.

This is our first monthly look at businesses new to Wellington. It starts with food, where the state publishes the most: new restaurant licenses, ownership changes and kitchens whose plans the state has approved ahead of opening. Forest Hill Boulevard and State Road 7 have most of the new names. Every listing below comes from a public record; we do not take payment to be included.

Opening a business here

Wellington requires a local Business Tax Receipt before any business opens, including home-based businesses and rental properties, under Article III of the village code. The Planning and Zoning Division reviews every application to make sure the use is allowed at that location. Receipts are renewed each year, and renewals open online July 1. A separate Palm Beach County receipt is also required, from the Tax Collector. Details and checklists are on the village’s business tax receipts page.

Restaurants also need state approval: plan review first, then a licensing inspection. Our restaurant inspections guide explains how to read the results.

How we build this roundup

We search the state’s new restaurant, ownership change and plan review files for rows whose location city is Wellington, and list them by date. Some Wellington mailing addresses are outside the village limits. We list mobile food vehicles by name only, because their licenses can carry an owner’s home address. Next month we will add other public sources as they publish.

What this means for you

  • Newly licensed on Forest Hill Boulevard: La Coppetta Matta and Palm Beach Improv & Copper Blues.
  • Coming to State Road 7: 16 Handles, Garden Butcher and Cluck Face Nashville Hot Chicken.
  • Opening something? Get both the village and county business tax receipts first.
