Halloween is Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026. Wellington’s big Halloween night comes two weeks early: the village’s Fall Festival is Saturday, Oct. 17, from 3 to 10 p.m. at Village Park, with trick-or-treating, a one-night haunted hallway and costume contests. The South Florida Fairgrounds, a short drive northeast on Southern Boulevard, runs its family Spookyville on seven days from Oct. 17 through Halloween.

Looking for the hours kids can knock on doors? That is on our separate trick-or-treat hours page, with candy safety tips. Pumpkin patches and harvest festivals are on the fall festivals page.

The Fall Festival, Saturday, Oct. 17

The village’s Fall Festival fills Village Park, 11700 Pierson Road, from 3 to 10 p.m. The village lists:

  • Trick-or-treating (bring a treat bag)
  • The one-night-only Haunted Hallways
  • Costume and pie-eating contests
  • Games, inflatables, laser tag, hay rides and a golf and games simulator
  • DJ music, dancing and food trucks

The early start is deliberate: the village says the longer hours let families with younger children enjoy the festival and still get home in time for bed.

Admission is free. Rides and activities need an all-access bracelet. Presale runs through Friday, Oct. 16, at $7 a child and $5 an adult; on the day it is $10 a child and $5 an adult, with bracelet sales ending at 9 p.m. Children 2 and under are free. Adults need a bracelet only for the golf simulator, HADO, the haunted hallways, laser tag and hay rides. Buy them at Village Park, at the Wellington Community Center or at the bracelet tent on the field behind the gym on the night (cash or card).

Spookyville at the fairgrounds

The South Florida Fair’s Spookyville turns Yesteryear Village, its historic village at the fairgrounds, into a family Halloween with trick-or-treating, live entertainment, food trucks and vendors. Costume parades are on Sundays.

  • Dates: Oct. 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30 and 31
  • Hours: 5 to 9 p.m. Fridays; 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Gates close half an hour before the event does.
  • Tickets: $10 for adults and $15 for children at the gate; buying online before Oct. 17 saves 10% ($9 and $13.50). A $45 family package for two adults and two children goes on sale Oct. 17. Children under 1 are free.
  • Enter through the archway gate, 9067 Southern Blvd.

The fair also runs Fright Nights, its haunted-house event, on the same grounds. It is built to scare; check the Fright Nights page for nights and age guidance before bringing children.

For older residents

The village’s monthly 50-and-up luncheon on Friday, Oct. 30, is a Halloween party at the Community Center, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is free with lunch and entertainment, but you must register first by calling 561-753-2484.

Music the week of Halloween

Thursday Nights in Wellington on Oct. 29 brings food trucks and market vendors from 5 p.m. and a tribute to Electric Light Orchestra at 6:30 p.m. at the Wellington Amphitheater. Bring a chair or blanket.
