Treat safety

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Halloween food safety tips for parents:

  • Give children a light meal or snack before they go out, and ask them to wait until they get home to eat anything.
  • Do not accept or eat anything that is not commercially wrapped.
  • Check wrapped treats for signs of tampering, such as an odd look or color, tiny pinholes or torn wrappers, and throw away anything suspicious.
