Things to do that week

  • Wellington Aquatics Center, 3410 120th Ave. S.: competition and recreation pools, a zero-depth play pool and Florida’s first NinjaCross obstacle course at a public pool, according to the village. Spring hours run 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. NinjaCross and the high dive need a 48-inch height and a 25-yard swim test. Children under 13 must be with an adult.
  • Winter Equestrian Festival at Wellington International, 3400 Equestrian Club Drive: daytime admission and parking are free, Wednesday through Sunday, and hunter/jumper shows start at 8 a.m., the venue says.   • Peaceful Waters Sanctuary, inside Village Park: a 30-acre wetland with a boardwalk and a mile of trails. Free; closes at dusk.
  • Wellington Environmental Preserve, 3491 Flying Cow Ranch Road: a 410-acre preserve with a six-story observation tower. Free.
  • Wellington Branch Library, 1951 Royal Fern Drive: open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, per the library system. 561-790-6070.

The Egg Hunt, Saturday, March 27

The village’s Egg Hunt starts promptly at 10 a.m. on the Village Park softball fields, with more than 45,000 eggs and fields split by age. Bring a basket and arrive early. Details are on our Easter page.

Village parks and the Aquatics Center keep their regular spring hours. Trash and recycling pickup runs as normal; the village skips pickup only on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
