SeeClickFix Wellington replaced GoWellington on Nov. 2 for potholes, missed trash and streetlights. How to file, what you need for code complaints and where to get the app.
Wellington has a new way to report a pothole, a missed trash pickup or a broken streetlight. SeeClickFix Wellington replaced the village’s GoWellington system on Monday, Nov. 2.
The village announced the switch in a news release. The software comes from CivicPlus, the company that also built the village website.
“This is another way for residents to communicate directly with the Village. The phone app is designed for easier access for help and information,” Village Manager Jim Barnes said in the release.
How it works
The village’s SeeClickFix page sets out four steps:
- Pick the category that best matches your request.
- Add a location, a description and, if you want, a photo.
- Get status updates in the app and by email while staff work on it.
- Get an email when staff mark the request complete.
You can file from the free SeeClickFix app for iPhone or Android, or from a computer through the village’s SeeClickFix web portal. The village said the system warns you if someone has already reported the same problem, so you can follow that request instead of filing a second one.
Code complaints need your name
A complaint about a code violation still has to carry your name and address. The village’s page cites Florida Statute 162.06, in force since July 1, 2021. It bars a code inspector from opening an investigation on an anonymous complaint. The statute makes an exception for an imminent threat to public health, safety or welfare.
What it means for you
- Old bookmarks and the GoWellington app are out of date. Use the village’s SeeClickFix page or download the SeeClickFix app.
- You can still phone. Village Hall is 561-791-4000 and Public Works is 561-791-4003.
- Use it for village problems only. A power outage goes to FPL, and an emergency goes to 911. Our power outages page lists who handles what.
We have changed the links on our own service pages to the new system. They include trash and recycling, road construction and closures, parks and trails and who to call at City Hall.
